Week 5 Continued

There was one moment of concern for Jaded: At one point, Wilson wandered off third base and took off.
Fearing Wilson was lost, his teammates’ cries of “George! George!” reverberated around Mills Pond Park. Eventually Wilson was located and he was reunited with his friends in the third-base dugout.

The Boss Players also showed fine defense, notably shortstop Paul O’Connell, one of the 85 O’Connell family members that shuttle on and off coach John O’Connell’s roster.

The Boss Players were supposed to play a second game, against In The Red. That game will be made up April 4 at 10 a.m. on Field 3.

Details of the other rained-out game: the Real McCoys vs. Chico’a Bail Bonds, are still be worked on. When they are announced, someone had better wake the coaches: Neither coach, Mike McCoy or Sean Piccoli, were there, which is believed to be a league first.

Reminder! League BBQ is this Sunday, at the pavilion beyond the left field fence on field 4. This is not the same one as years past, which was located between fields 3 and 4.

Also, if you are in a giving mood, there are a couple of events involving league members. Olmeda recently took part in “The walk to defeat ALS” and is still accepting donations. If interested, go to this link

On Saturday, April 26, Fleming is taking part in the March of Dimes March for Babies. The goal is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, prematurity, and infant mortality. If interested: www.marchforbabies.org
